About Mari

Pink Poppy Flowers

Mari Maseng Will has been in love with the South Carolina low country since childhood and has been photographing it since she was the photo editor of the student newspaper at the University of South Carolina, where she studied journalism and photography.  She worked as a reporter and photographer at the Charleston Evening Post (now the Post and Courier) and created and sold photographs of life on the Eastern Shore of the Chesapeake after moving to Washington, DC.  In her other life, she was a speechwriter for President Reagan and served as one of the highest ranking officials in the Reagan White House. She was a corporate officer of a Fortune 50 company where she directed advertising and an international re-branding.  Today, in addition to her photography, she works as a debate coach and media trainer for candidates for president, senator, congress and governor. But her heart remains on the coast of South Carolina.

Mari and her husband have four grown children and a dog, and split their time between Washington and Kiawah Island, where Mari explores the miracles of nature and the rhythms of low country life.
